SIMPLE ANSWERS TO ANTI-AGING SKIN CARE QUESTIONS
General FAQs:
Do I need an appointment?
Yes, unless walking in to purchase products, booking an appointment is the best way to ensure all your questions, concerns and services are taken care of.
Can I do a treatment the same day as my consultation?
We will be happy to accommodate you the best we can. Some of our treatments we are able to do the same day, others it is preferred we schedule you for a different day. Please feel free to check with our booking staff for further information.
Who will my consultation be with? How much does it cost?
Every consultation, whether virtual or in-person, is absolutely free and is booked with either Dr. Gordon or Erika Goff, MSN, APRN, FNP-BC, NP-C. During your consultation you are welcome to go over all of your questions and concerns.
Do you have a cancelation policy?
We ask that you give us at least 24 hours notice if you need to cancel. This way we are able to fill that appointment slot. (See our full policy at the bottom of this page.)
What happens if I’m late for my appointment?
Out of respect for our patients and providers, if you are more than 10 minutes late for your scheduled appointment, you will be asked to reschedule.
Do I have to do Before-and-Afters? What is the importance of it?
Yes, it makes a huge difference in seeing the process of improvement of the period of your treatments. Collagen stimulation is gradual, so by looking at yourself every day, it may be hard to see the difference. But, once comparing your before-and-afters, the differences are apparent.

Laser FAQs:
Does the laser hurt?
Depending on the treatment you are receiving will depend on the intensity level. Some patients feel virtually nothing, while others describe a small discomfort. However, there is no burning or scabbing with this laser.
Is there downtime?
Nope! That is the beauty of this laser. You can apply makeup and go about your day as you normally would. We recommend not working out or sweating immediately following the treatment.
Can it be used on darker skin types?
Yes! Aerolase is one of the only lasers on the market that is able to treat all skin types.
Is it safe for children/teenagers struggling with acne or hyperpigmentation?
With parent consent, yes. Treating acne is a passion of ours. We have patients as young as 10 years old that we see for acne struggles.
Injectables FAQs:
Does it hurt?
It can feel like a small bee sting, but many of our patients have said it’s virtually painless. If you are nervous, we are happy to apply topical numbing cream to the area.
What filler do I need?
Dr. Gordon is the expert. During your consultation, she will be able to determine which filler would be best for the location you are wanting to have treated.
What is the downtime to expect?
With any type of injection, there is a risk for bruising. You can also have mild local swelling. Applying ice can help reduce inflammation. Allow at least two weeks of downtime.
How long does it last?
Filler can last anywhere from three months to a year. It truly depends on the area of treatment.
Wrinkle relaxers last anywhere from 3-6 months.
Can I buy half a syringe of filler?
Your safety is our top priority. Due to the risk of cross-contamination from separating the product into different syringes, we cannot ensure the product remains sterile. For that reason, we do not portion our filler into half syringes.
Microneedling FAQs:
What will I look like after this treatment?
You will be pinkish-red, like a mild sunburn, with some possible “pinpoint” bleeding. This will calm down within a few hours after the treatment.
Will it hurt?
We apply topical numbing cream, which is included in the price of your treatment, to the entire treatment area. It can feel like small scratches on the skin.
What is the difference between Microneedling and Microdermabrasion?
Microneedling is a stronger and longer lasting collagen stimulation treatment. It creates a tiny microchannel in the skin that then fills with collagen to reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and scarring. Microdermabrasion is simply a top layer exfoliation that does not penetrate any deeper than the epidermis layer.
Chemical Peel FAQs:
Will I look scary, like a snake or burned?
Your first couple of peels will have an “active” feeling when applied by our licensed aesthetician. The after effects will leave you with a nice glow. Your peeling will be more like dry flakes and mild shedding.
What if I don’t peel?
That is okay! The peel still works; it just means you don’t need as much cell turnover.
How often should I get a peel?
It is truly up to your discretion, they are a perfect boost to get your skin back to healthy and glowing. We usually recommend regular maintenance every 1-3 months.
HydraFacial / Custom Facials FAQs:
What is the difference between a HydraFacial and a Custom Facial?
A HydraFacial is a specialized type of facial that not only cleanses the face, but exfoliates, extracts imperfections, and replenishes the skin with hydration boosts and hyaluronic acids. A custom facial can help address signs of premature aging, environmental damage, acne flare-ups, and a dull and patchy complexion.
What is the downtime for Facials and HyrdraFacials?
You do not need to have any downtime. We do recommend to not apply any makeup the day of your facial so your skin can breathe and absorb the products applied during your facial.
How long do Facials and HydraFacials take?
Your pampering and relaxation, as well as providing an effective treatment, are our main goals. Plan for about an hour for these treatments to relax and unwind.
